The function and selection of coating crosslinking agent
The so-called crosslinking is the process of bonding between large molecules of linear or branched polymers. The crosslinking agent is the substance that makes the polymer cross the main chain of the large molecule.
Crosslinking agent is often contain multiple functional active substances such as dibasic acid, polybasic acid, diamine, isocyanate or compounds containing more than one unsaturated double bond, and sulfur, organic peroxide, metal oxide, etc. Organic peroxide is used as a crosslinking agent for vinyl resin, unsaturated polyester, ethylene propylene rubber, silicone rubber, fluorine rubber and polyurethane rubber.
Crosslinking agent for adhesive modification plays a role, can improve the bonding strength, heat resistance, water resistance, chemical resistance, creep resistance, aging resistance, etc. The mechanism of cross-linking agent is different, and there is a direct response from the active group of the polymer molecules. Some of them are combined with monomers into linear large chains, which are then combined with heat, oxygen and radiation.
In order to achieve good crosslinking effect, we should choose the appropriate crosslinking agent for different adhesive variety. This requires that the crosslinking agent be small, the crosslinking efficiency is high, and the crosslinking structure is stable. Time is good, too fast is bad. No impact on construction and performance; Non-toxic, unstimulating, unpolluted environment; Cheap and easy to accept; Stable storage and no coagulation of adhesives during storage.

Crosslinking agent through the interface adhesion and the cohesion of substance, can make two or more than two parts or materials meet together of natural or synthetic, a class of organic or inorganic material, are collectively referred to as "crosslinking agent", also called "adhesive" or "glue", traditionally glue for short.
Crosslinking agents are mainly used in polymer materials (rubber and thermosetting resin). Because the molecular structure of the polymer materials as one long line, not crosslinked intensity at the low, easy to break, and there is no elastic, the effect of crosslinking agent is to produce chemical bonds between the molecules of the form, the linear molecules each other together, form a mesh structure, increase strength and flexibility of the rubber, rubber crosslinking agent is mainly used in the sulfur, in addition to promoter.
Plus crosslinking agent is joined in poly vinyl acetate emulsion can make the macromolecular crosslinking material, further make for thermosetting poly vinyl acetate emulsion performance.
It is commonly used as an additive agent, such as phenolic resin and thermosetting resin such as urea formaldehyde resin. When a certain amount of urea formaldehyde resin is added to polyvinyl acetate emulsion, it can not only reduce the cost but also improve its water resistance, heat resistance and adhesion strength. It is also possible to apply vinyl acetate emulsion and urea-formaldehyde resin to two surfaces of the clay, and then superimposed.
This modified adhesive is mainly used for wood adhesion to make plywood, decorative board, plastic laminate, etc. It in lumber and wood, wood and paper, wood and plastic film bonded processing and furniture manufacturing, doors and Windows assembly and on-site paving plastic floor is widely used in construction.
