Production mode of plasticizer
The production mode of plasticizers is introduced in this paper. The production methods of plasticizers are batch production, continuous production and semi continuous production.
Most plasticizers are esters of acids or anhydride and alcohols, and their properties depend on the properties of the acids and alcohols used. The main part of the plasticizer production unit is the catalytic reactor. In addition, the transportation and post-processing equipment is also needed to transport raw materials and finished products, and to separate and purify the reaction products.
Production mode of plasticizer: intermittent production
Advantage
1) less investment and rapid construction
2) it is easy to switch products and can produce a variety of plasticizers
3) the technology is simple and the quality of personnel is easy to be satisfied
shortcoming
1) the product quality fluctuates greatly and is not too stable
2) the process is backward and the labor intensity is great
3) high energy consumption and material consumption
Batch production is suitable for the production of small scale and various plasticizers, and the investment is less efficient.
Production process of plasticizer: continuous production process
As the requirement of DOP and DBP plasticizers is very large, the continuous production process based on DOP and DBP has been widely used.
In continuous production, the esterification reactor can be divided into two categories: tower type reactor and cascade reactor. The tower type esterification device is more reasonable when using acidic catalyst. When using non acidic catalyst or without catalyst, because of the longer residence time of the reaction mixture, the cascade reactor is more suitable.
The five processes of DBP continuous production process are esterification, neutralization, dealcoholization, decolorization and filtration.
Continuous production
Advantage
1) the quality of the product is good and the quality is stable.
2) low energy consumption, low material consumption and good economic benefit
3) advanced technology and high labor productivity
4) the level of automation is high, and the labor intensity is small

Use of two octyl terephthalate (plasticizer DOTP)
1.DOTP has good electrical and thermal properties. It can be used to replace DOP in the sheath of PVC plastic wire and can also be used in the production of artificial leather membrane. In addition, with excellent compatibility, terephthalic acid ester is two PVC acrylonitrile derivatives plastic plasticizer, plasticizer, plasticizer, polyvinyl butyral nitrile rubber plasticizer, plasticizer for cellulose nitrate. The improvement of the product and plays the role of hardness and deformation, can be used as softener in NBR, chloroprene rubber, EPDM rubber and other products three. Especially for cable material, it has good plasticizing effect and low volatility. It is widely used in various products that require heat resistance and high insulation. Production mode of plasticizer: semi continuous production
The so-called semi continuous production means that the chemical order of the ester is intermittent, and the process after esterification (neutralization, dealcoholization, decolorization and filtration) is used continuously. The semi continuous production process is a transitional stage in the intermittent production process to the continuous production process. The production of DOP, DBP and other main ortho - two formate plasticizers is mostly semi - continuous production technology in China. Its size is generally at 1~2 tons per year.
Advantage
1) lower investment than continuous production
2) the switching variety is easier than continuous production, and it is more suitable for the production of multiple plasticizers
3) partial continuous production, convenient operation, the yield of raw materials is basically the same as full continuous production
4) compared with the intermittent type, the production model is large and the labor productivity is high
shortcoming
1) compared with the continuous production, the labor intensity is high and the quality of the product is easy to fluctuate
2) the energy consumption of intermittent esterification is higher than that of continuous esterification
3) the degree of automation is lower than that of continuous production
Semi continuous production is more suitable for moderate scale and multi variety plasticizer production. Flexible production is one of the advantages of semi continuous production.
