Methyl acrylic acid glycolate (GMA) crosslinking agent resin mainly refers to the following monomers as the main functional units.This is an appropriate substitute for TGIC.
Compared with AralditePT910, methyl methacrylate (GMA) crosslinking agent does not need to be specially designed for polyester, which can be used as a regular polyester designed for TGIC, which is best suited for polyester with acid value of 22-26mgkoh/g.
The GMA crosslinking agent has a much faster crosslinking speed than TGIC, which causes the viscosity to rise rapidly and causes the problem of flow squared.In addition, GMA resin is easy to be separated from the polyester resin in the formula, which means that the compatibility is poor, which leads to the deterioration of the wet performance of the pigments to make the coating susceptible to hair flowers;The mechanical properties of the dispersion are also poor if they cannot be effectively improved.In other conditions, the system will be contaminated with the existing paint system.
Compared with the TGIC system, GMA300 has about 300 epoxy equivalent, which requires high dosage of GMA resin as crosslinking agent, which is generally 16/84 weight and therefore is not economical.The coating with GMA300 crosslinking agent is equivalent to TGlC powder in outdoor durability.However, the coating hardness is lower than the TGIC system.
