Hydrophilic crosslinking agent for wood coatings
Hydrophilic crosslinking agent is added in the wood coatings: although one-component aqueous dispersions provides the required performance, by adding hydrophilic crosslinking agent, the chemical media resistance, adhesion, or other may further improve the performance.
Hydrophilic crosslinking agents have several kinds of chemicals to choose from - polyazol-polycyclic propane, polycarbonized diylamine and water-dispersible polyisocyanates.
The polyazothane and polycarbonized diylamine provide the properties of dispersive and low viscosity, but are sensitive to the pH value and must be cross-linked with the acid functional groups respectively.
The first generation of polyisocyanate has been modified by hydrophilic modification, thus providing easy dispersibility.This option is usually low in isocyanate content and has high viscosity.
The second generation of isocyanates is solvent-free and ion-modified, and is another patented technology.One of the advantages of this technique is that the isocyanate content is high (23%) and the viscosity is very low, so that it can be prepared with ultra-low VOC coating.
