Epoxy resin and paint crosslinking agent
It is important to carefully measure epoxy resin and crosslinking agent by mixing appropriate crosslinking. When the resin/crosslinking agent mixture is used for coating or casting material, or additive modification, the following points will ensure high strength epoxy crosslinking.
The formula is to place the resin and crosslinking agent in the clean plastic, metal or non-waxed paper containers. Do not use glass or foam containers to avoid potential hazards.
You can't try to adjust the epoxy-crosslinked time by changing the mix. A correct proportion is the appropriate cross-linking basis and can fully develop its physical properties.
Distribute with limited pumps. The biggest problems associated with the epoxy crosslinking can reflect the ratio of resins and crosslinking agents. For simple measurement, we recommend using a standardized WEST SYSTEM limited pump to distribute resins and crosslinking agents. Standardized limited pumps can deliver a proper proportion of resins and crosslinking agents.
Press a pump resin and press a full pump crosslinking agent. The next operation is only allowed after each load is filled with the pump. The pressure head must be returned to the original position before the next operation can be carried out, otherwise the wrong proportion will be given. Please read the instructions carefully before using. Before you plan to use the first mixture, you should verify the appropriate ratio according to the pump instructions. Then check the problem of any ratio based on your experience of cross-linking.

Not using a limited pump for distribution (weight/volume measurement) - a mixture of 5 resins with a crosslinking agent when weight or volume of 105 resins and 205 or 206 crosslinking agents are used. When cross-linking agent was made by volume measurement of 105 resins and 207 or 209 crosslinking agents, the three resins were mixed with one of the cross-linking agents (3.5 resin-1 cross-linking agent).
If this is the first time you've used a WEST SYSTEM epoxy resin, suggest you use the mixture for your project. Experimented with a small number of samples to get the crosslinking of the mixture of feelings, it will show you with operating temperature of crosslinking agent on the job to ensure that your resin/crosslinking agent ratio measurement is appropriate. Mix small batches of samples, master processing characteristics until you are confident.
Keep stirring the two components at lower temperatures, stirring thoroughly for at least 1 minute (figure 3). Ensure a thorough mixing, and when you mix, you should scrape the sides and bottom of the container. Use a flat mixing rod to stir into the corner of the container.
If you are using an electric mixer, occasionally scrape the sides and corners of the container when mixing. If you use this mixture as a coating, you should quickly pour it into a cylinder to extend the operation time.
Warning! Epoxy resins produce heat when crosslinking. When contains a large amount of epoxy resin crosslinked heat is big, has a very short operation time, and can produce enough heat, make the melting plastic cups, and foaming, and even burn your skin, and ignite combustible materials. To this end, the mixing container cannot use foam or glass.
If the mixed epoxy resin starts to heat up in the container (or heating it on top), it should be quickly moved outdoors. Avoid breathing its smoke. Until the reaction is complete and cool, the mixture will be processed. If the foam or other insulating material is used, the epoxy layer cannot be filled or poured more than 1/2 inch thinner. Do not pour into the margin of isolation.
Remove the epoxy resin. Remove unlinked or unlinked epoxy resin as the resin you wish to remove. You can use hard metal or plastic squeegee to scrape it off the surface of a heated, sticky epoxy resin. Then clean the residue with thinner paint, acetone or alcohol.
